Potential Walls Of This Room And The Bricks That Would Shape Them is a site-specific installation in which possible-potential walls are marked through the space.
The floors, walls and ceiling are marked using London Clay collected from a Central London excavation site.
The piece invites viewers to imagine the possible spaces these walls could shape within the room and how navigating through the space would differ with each each of them separately or a combination of them.
London Clay has a long history as a building material to make bricks, which were used to build houses (and walls). The numbers of bricks is calculated and indicate the quantity of these needed to build each wall, highlighting the specificity of the materials we use to create our built environment.

...if there was a wall next to the window, the inside of the gallery won't be visible from the street...
...if there was a wall just after the entrance, an odd 15cm wide room will be created and the gallery space would just be visible from street window...
...if a diagonal wall divided the room into two, we would get two similar sized rooms: one with most of the artwork, which won't be accessible but visible from the window. The other room would be accessible and the one sculpture could be closely observed...
